Stereo Bluetooth A2DP Headsets and iPhone 3.0 OS
One of the coolest things about the new iPhone 3.0 software is the support for A2DP Stereo Bluetooth devices. This means that you can finally use your i.Tech stereo Bluetooth Headsets to listen to the music stored in your iPhone. One word - fantastic. This new feature is very important for i.Tech since i.Tech has pioneered in the stereo Bluetooth market since 2005 with models like ClipS and ClipIIs and continues to bring great new products like the ClipMusic, a Multipoint stereo headset, and ClipD-Radio which incorporates FM-receiver, caller ID and stereo Bluetooth in one.
We tested the iPhone on i.Tech’s ClipMusic and ClipD-Radio and they worked smoothly regarding the music streaming and the receiving and making of calls. Sound quality was more than adequate and the range indoors was about 10 meters. As for the playlist controls, play/pause works on ClipD-Radio and volume up/down works on both headsets. What does not work is the skip forward/backward function for moving through the tracks. During music streaming the Bluetooth icon appears as an active icon on the lower right corner of the iPhone screen. By pressing on the icon, one can switch between the headset and the iPhone’s built-in speakers.
In case you receive a call while listening to a track, the music pauses automatically and you can pick up the call by pressing the MFB button on the headset and speak through it. The music will then return on the headset once you have ended the call.
